From delivery capability to a US commercial engine

How Indium’s US sales leadership, client-partner capacity and engineering specialization offer a useful lens on cross-border enterprise GTM.

Independent analysis of public sources, not a CapHatch client engagement. Indium is not represented as a CapHatch client, partner or endorser. CapHatch did not perform the activities examined here.

Documented US exposure · FY2025

83%

of Indium’s consolidated revenue came from the United States

Reported by ICRA, September 2025. A historical company measure—not a CapHatch result or a measure of sales generated by the strategies discussed below.

01 / Business context

An established US business, not a first entry

Indium is a Chennai-headquartered technology-services and digital engineering company spanning application engineering, data and AI, quality engineering and related services. It has an established US subsidiary serving the United States and Canada. This is not the story of a company winning its first American customer: the US was already central to Indium’s operations.

ICRA’s September 2025 assessment reported that the US contributed approximately 83% of the company’s FY2025 revenue. That market concentration made North American customer relationships commercially important, while also exposing the company to fluctuations in US demand.

02 / Documented strategic decisions

Strengthening the team closest to the buyer

In the FY2024–25 annual report’s outlook for FY2026, Indium described a renewed US market focus through the appointment of a Chief Revenue Officer, expansion of its sales and client-partner teams, and a ramp-up in local technical talent. Management reported stronger client traction and expected these investments to support closer customer relationships and faster execution. The report does not provide a quantified result for each individual change.

Separately, Indium acquired a 52.3% stake in Experion Technologies in November 2024. ICRA described the acquisition as providing access to additional geographies, services and end-user industries, along with cross-selling opportunities. These decisions reflect a broader growth strategy; the available evidence does not isolate their effect on US customer acquisition.

03 / Evidence limitations

What the published sources cannot tell us

The annual report identifies management’s planned and ongoing commercial investments, not a controlled before-and-after experiment. The sources reviewed do not disclose the number of new US customers attributable to the sales realignment, conversion rates, sales-cycle reductions or returns from individual hires.

Indium’s scale, existing customer base and acquisition resources are also materially different from those of a small services company entering the US for the first time. Its approach is informative, but not a formula that can be copied without testing buyer demand and operating constraints.

04 / Independent GTM interpretation

Lessons for technology-services founders

For an IT services or AI engineering business, the underlying commercial question is not simply whether US buyers purchase outsourced technology services. It is which buyers have a pressing, well-defined problem that the company can credibly solve—and how the sales and delivery organizations can prove that value.

  • Turn capabilities into buyer-specific offers. Replace broad descriptions such as “end-to-end software development” with a clearly defined problem, use case, buyer and proof of delivery.
  • Build account ownership, not just lead generation. Establish responsibility for qualification, discovery, procurement follow-through, solution design and commercial handoffs across time zones.
  • Connect local coverage to validated demand. A US hire or office should respond to a realistic account plan, not serve as a substitute for customer research.
  • Track progression through the enterprise buying process. Measure qualified conversations, opportunity movement, recurring objections and procurement blockers before scaling commercial headcount.
  • Treat security and contracting requirements as buyer-readiness workstreams. Assess buyer expectations and engage qualified legal, privacy and security specialists when applicable; requirements vary by customer and industry.

These points are CapHatch’s editorial interpretation. They are not claims about the exact sequence followed by Indium or the specific causes of its results.

05 / Potential engagement

How CapHatch could support a comparable company

For a technology-services company evaluating US growth, CapHatch could research priority buyer segments, competitor positioning and procurement expectations; shape an initial ideal customer profile and differentiated service proposition; identify relevant accounts and partnership hypotheses; and structure a focused commercial validation plan with defined owners, outreach activities and review points.

CapHatch’s GTM strategy and execution support is available to qualifying international technology companies across geographies, not only those based in India. Actual activities, specialist involvement and fees would be agreed in scope. Client wins, partnerships and revenue are not guaranteed.
